Spurs Should Waive Chimezie Metu

The big man who the Spurs drafted 49th in 2018 was signed as a development project. Metu shown potential as a good shot blocker with a good mid-range. But he’s too raw in the league and can’t make an impact on his short stint. The big man didn’t play a single minute in the past summer leagues due to injuries. Which the front office can’t evaluate his progress.

The Spurs need a big man to do simple things. Help the thin frontcourt of Aldridge and Poeltl. They had been outrebounded by opponents. Plenty of minutes was used by Aldridge because there is no another guy after him.

The fifteen spots should be on somebody who deserves to play healthy. The Spurs can contend now, with Dejounte Murray and Derrick White. The mid-range duo of DeRozan and Aldridge. This roster isn’t a star power and doesn’t generate a lot of buzzes. But this team can achieve a lot.

Drew Eubanks played solid minutes last year. He can be promoted also if continue to play simple basketball. The big man had already earn chemistry from a group of guys. They can also look in free agency the bigs like Kenneth Farried or Dwight Howard. These guys had experience in playing from big moments. They can change the complexion of the game by just one play.
