Spurs Players that had most to Prove this season

The roster didn’t have star power. So ESPN predicted them to missed another playoff. The front office didn’t make a splash last summer in free agency. Adding only Demarre Carroll and Trey Lyles. There are guys on the roster who had enough bag to carry. They are the one that coaching staff wants to improve on the court. Fans hoping them to fulfill their expectations.

Demar DeRozan

A max contract is waiting for him this season. Even at a loss in the first round of 2019 playoffs. We expect him to deliver good numbers and postseason win with the fully healthy roster. DeRozan had a 21,6 and 6 on his first season as a Spur. With Derrick White likely to continue his streak. Lonnie Walker IV will earn some minutes. Demar needs to continue his consistency on offense.

With the return of Dejounte Murray, the defense will improve. DeRozan will assign to a less offensive threat. Which he can save his energy on the offensive end. The addition of Demare Carroll it’s another target for him in a drive and kicks out.

Dejounte Murray

Torn ACL injury put him out of his expected breakout season. Then Derrick White was now the Spurs best young player. White gained a lot of buzzes and even in the final fourteen rosters of Team USA. Murray already clear to play basketball. The point guard is eager to prove that he’s Spurs future.

The all-defensive team is not his first and last accolades. It was Murray just starting to put his name on notice. He had the most upside with a jump shot away to be great. Washington product will have a contract year this season. He is not yet to the level of Tony Parker but his work ethic will put himself on that success.

As a point guard, he is the coach on the court. Murray shows how to be a leader in 2018. Although 2018 postseason run isn’t impressive as 2019 led by White. But the Spurs will be great again.
