The Titans agree to sign Ryan Tannehill for a multi-year contract. After a good run in playoffs as they eliminated the defending champion New England Patriots in the wild card round. Then dominated the league-best Baltimore Ravens in the divisional championship until a good matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in AFC Championship that Titans lost.
The quarterback named comeback Player of the Year by the AP which the Titans acquired via trade with the Miami Dolphins. As he stated earlier this offseason that he wants to stay in Tennessee.
“I do know I love the (Titans) organization, I love the team, I love the guys on the team, and I love the tone coach (Mike) Vrabel sets, and the vision that he has,” Tannehill said while at the Pro Bowl. “I feel like we’re headed in the right direction.
“I’d like for things to line up and I’d like to be back (in Tennessee) if it all gets worked out. … We’ll just have to see. But hopefully we can get things worked out and keep building on what we did this year.”
The worth of his contract 116 million for 4 years with 62 million guaranteed money.
Ryan Tannehill led the league in rating with 117.5 in 2019. Since he takes over the starting job in Week 7, he guides the with a 9-4 mark. Throwing 22 touchdowns and six interceptions for 2742 yards. As he also set the franchise record in completion percentage with 70.3%. Also the third-best in the NFL in 2019.
