Worst ever trade idea for the Spurs made by Bleacher Report

With the “streak” is over last week for the Spurs, pundits believe they need a change to get back in the playoff contention next season. So the idea of trade comes out to improve the Spurs roster.

If the Spurs win the lottery Bleacher Report had this trade idea that could help San Antonio right away.

Spurs received: Kevin Love and Colin Sexton

Cavaliers received: First pick overall, Rudy Gay, Patty Mills, and Keldon Johnson

This idea is the most stupid that I’ve ever read in my entire life.

There’s no way the Spurs give up on Keldon Johnson. He’s still young but a character on how to play hard every second made him special. Johnson shows he’s a big part of the Spurs’ future the way he played in Orlando. The kid has good chemistry playing together with the Spurs young guys. With only 20 years old, the ceiling on his game is something coaching staff thrilled of.

Spurs guard Patty Mills isn’t likely to play elsewhere and will retire as a Spur. He’s a good leader to his young teammates and his community. The veteran defines the Spurs culture, plus a fact that Patty could be a huge mentor in this Spurs young guys.

Rudy Gay is on expiring contract and can’t make a huge impact on the Spurs youth movement but they aren’t desperate to give up the veteran without taking a good value in return. A lot of contending team wants to acquire for Rudy Gay’s services in a one-year rental to help them win.

Kevin Love such a good player who can really help the Spurs but his contract is too much to handle. With his age that a little younger than LaMarcus Aldridge, the Spurs are not going make a depth run.

Collin Sexton is a good scorer but the Spurs got multiple guys who can really score. The team also loaded guard in a position that is similar to Sexton.

Most of all a top pick is such a big opportunity for the franchise. This guy couldn’t be like Tim Duncan but he could be a huge help on the Spurs. In a year or two, the Spurs can be a contender once again.
