Spurs missed a huge opportunity against the Sixers

The Spurs are 10 seconds away to be the first team win three straight in Orlando, Florida but Shake Milton came up clutch to steal the game and the Sixers win 132-130.

It was a close game in the first half until the Sixers build a 14 point lead in the third quarter with the effort of Joel Embiid who used his size to bully the Spurs. But the Spurs figured it out in the final quarter playing great defense in the passing lane.

DeMar DeRozan scored 17 points in the fourth including 6 straight to give his team a four-point lead. But the Sixers went to Embiid to cut the lead. The Spurs had a chance to make a three-point lead but Derrick White split his chances. After the Sixers called a timeout and set a play which an obvious one that they’re looking for Embiid down the low. Spurs Murray expected the ball and he’s going to help Poeltl quickly when the ball pounded inside but Horford finds Milton. The Sixers guard is a foot away from the arc but he takes a shot without hesitation and Murray is two steps away to recover.

The Spurs again had a chance to win but Jakob Poeltl layup was blocked after receiving a pass from DeMar DeRozan.

Spurs missed a huge one after the Memphis Grizzlies lost to the New Orleans Pelicans earlier. It could be a half-game back if Spurs sealed the game taking a huge advantage against the Blazers.

Spurs were lead by DeRozan with 30 points while Rudy Gay had 24 points, who came hot in the first half. Derrick White added 20 points for the Spurs and Keldon Johnson had a career-high 15 points. Dejounte Murray had 13 for the Spurs.

San Antonio will play the Denver Nuggets next on Wednesday.
