Spurs loss to Hawks: The excellent, the good and the bad

With the final 75 seconds of the game, Spurs up by six points. All they need to do is a stop or a basket to win the game. But sadly the young Hawks found their way to steal a win with 121- 120. As the Spurs made a third-quarter run to take an 11 point lead. This is the first time since 1997 as the Atlanta Hawks win a game in San Antonio.

Who’s Spurs excelled on this game, the good or who’s the worst.

LaMarcus Aldridge helps San Antonio on a third-quarter run. Scored 30 points with five board before fouling out. He started the run in the second to take an 11 point advantage. Hawks bigs had no match against him from the outside or in the paint.

DeMar DeRozan

He flirted into a triple-double with his 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. Although he missed a potential game-winning shot he’s still valuable with the Spurs run. He sets his guys on the right spot especially Patty Mills drained from the arc. DeRozan had now 13 straight games with 20+ points at 50% shooting.

The Good

Dejounte Murray

The Spurs point guard had a good game tonight with a double-double. With highlights in the first quarter dropped Trae Young. Murray scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, with team-high five offensive boards. He also minimized his turnover problem limited to two compared to five dished. Murray had three steals to bother the passing lane all game.

Patty Mills

The veteran off the bench continues to contribute big time. Mills had 15 come off the bench. He is the only one who shoots well from the arc.

The Bad

Bryn Forbes

The shooting guard had struggles in the game. He only made one from the arc out of his six tries and 2 out of nine overall. He’s been mismatch to Hawks guard Kevin Huerter defensively. He can’t keep to any of his men and didn’t take the opportunity why he stayed on the court is to score which he failed to do.
