The San Antonio Spurs are the most underdogs team when the season restarts in Orlando on July 30. Knowing the facts that they don’t have LaMarcus Aldridge who can help the team to generates points from the paint. The team is struggling this season recorded only 27-36 good for 12th in the Western Conference.
The Spurs got no match up from a healthy Joel Embiid, Rudy Gobert, Nikola Jokic, Marvin Bagley, and Zion Williamson. These men are great on both ends of the floor that can dominate the Spurs. The Sacramento Kings got a healthy DeAron Fox, Ja Morant want to continue his best game while Donovan Mitchell will bounce back against the Spurs. The Spurs can lose all games once they will play these guys with a lot of motivations. But the Spurs can win at least one game against the Houston Rockets.
There’s a lot of reason why the San Antonio can beat the Rockets. Their first meeting was a great battle with a double-overtime win by the Spurs. Lonnie Walker IV on his best of his career scoring and guarding against James Harden. The second game had full of intensity when the Spurs lead by as much as 20 points. With James Harden upsets, they had some moments against Dejounte Murray pushing each other. The Spurs lost that game in a very close fashion and a must-watch.
Houston Rockets had the best scoring duo having two MVPs for the last three seasons. They’re really great but the Spurs perimeter player been perfect to guard them. From Dejounte Murray, Derrick White, and Lonnie Walker while Jakob Poeltl will take over the paint. The Austrian becomes a nightmare for Harden back in their first game after he blocks MVP’s two game-winning drive.
Then the Rockets got Clint Capela that time who dominates the boards for them. Right now their starting center is PJ Tucker a 6’5″ forward who lives in his excellent defense. But come on, Poeltl and Trey Lyles isn’t LaMarcus Aldridge on scoring but they are pretty good on the offensive board that can create scoring opportunities. Jakob Poeltl is a great pick and roll master that gives his team a physical force inside. When he ran to the rim after giving a screen it’s hard for Tucker to push him. While Lyles offensively is a beast when Aldridge isn’t around.
Do you agree that Spurs can go 1-7 just to beat this Rocket team?
