Report: Spurs signed Tyler Zeller until next season

The San Antonio Spurs who will play on Orlando signed Tyler Zeller almost two weeks ago to boost their campaign. The veteran journeyman yet to play an NBA minute since April 10, 2019.

Without LaMarcus Aldridge, the Spurs could give Zeller an amount of playing time after Jakob Poeltl. There’s a report also that Spurs signed the big man until next season with a non- guaranteed deal. The worth of the deal was 2.4 million but the date to be fully guaranteed yet to announce.

This move could help the Spurs on what to do with their big man. With Aldridge on the last year of his contract, the Spurs can shop him elsewhere to give them back a draft picks or a young good player with potential. While with Jakob Poeltl, the Spurs can have insurance once that can’t match any offer for Poeltl.

Tyler Zeller is a solid role player who knows how to use his strength. A good rebounder, an outside shooter with a very good range. With the lack of a big man, the Spurs can use Zeller. Good insurance for the team once Jakob Poeltl found a good offer from other teams.

The big man that also plays from Boston, Cleveland, Brooklyn, Milwaukee, Atlanta, and Memphis will be in the Spurs training camp for the 2020-21 season. Tyler Zeller mentioned that he’s grateful for the opportunity given by one of the best organizations in the league.
