The NBA draft is still far away and yet to determine if the league will move it to August 1, 2020. Teams will watch prospect workouts in live video for 3 hours.
The Spurs is one of the four teams who contacted New Mexico State guard/wing player Trevelin Queen for an interview ahead of the draft reports.
So far, Queen has been contacted by four NBA teams: the Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs, Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards have all reached out to Queen to interview him early in the draft process.
Queen helped New Mexico State win its second-straight regular-season title and third-straight WAC Tournament title. The guard averaged 13.2 points with 47% from the field, 2.4 assists and 5.2 rebounds. He is one of the prospects who can play both ends of the court.
“I feel like I can bring energy on both sides of the court, I can be a 2-way player offensively and defensively,” Queen said. “I feel like I can be a talent on both ends of the court and efficient on both ends of the court. Just bring that energy and that hype every day, in the locker room, on the court, wherever I need it at.”
The Spurs already had Walker, White, and DeRozan in the wing rotation. Trevelin Queen is projected to be a second-rounder or to be undrafted in this year’s NBA Draft.
