Knicks to interview Becky Hammon for a head coaching job

The New York Knicks looking for a head coaching job for the next season. Earlier this year they fired David Fizdale and put Mike Miller as interim coach. Reports came out that the front office lead by general manager Leon Rose looking for another option. One candidate emerges was the San Antonio Spurs Becky Hammon. Others were named Ime Uduka a former Spurs assistant, Tom Thibodeau, Mike Miller, Kenny Atkinson, and Mike Woodson according to Newsday.

Becky Hammon was a finalist in the Bucks coaching job two years ago but they choose to hire Mike Budenhozer also former Spurs. Hammon is the first female full-time assistant coach in NBA history. She started in 2014 for the Spurs. Hammon leads the San Antonio Spurs to take the title in Las Vegas Summer League in 2015.

The Hall of Famer played his first seven years with the New York Liberty in WNBA which they found multiple success. Then in 2007, she was headed to the San Antonio Silver Stars. They reached the WNBA Finals in 2008 but lost to the Detroit Shock.
