Hey Critics, Trey Lyles is the Spurs best story

Critics focus too much on the bad story of the Spurs this season. Out of 33 losses, Spurs should win at least 30% of it. Gregg Popovich not coaching well by letting Bryn Forbes playing more minutes than Lonnie Walker IV, not making a move at the trade deadline to improve the team personnel, by not giving rookies minutes which they think the Spurs need to develop. One of the biggest stories is Demarre Carroll, after his 31 million three year deal the Spurs sit him on the bench and played only on garbage minutes 15 times. But Trey Lyles playing well for the Spurs, he’s fit to any of the roster. The big man is young, cheap with his contract and improving in San Antonio.

Trey Lyles started 48 times for the Spurs and he had one double-double this season. He scored 23 points a career-high as a Spur while grabbed 14 rebounds. Quite 5.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game this season. He’s becoming an asset for the franchise to save his career as a former lottery pick. Trey Lyles is not forcing himself to get his numbers. Against the Orlando Magic without LaMarcus Aldridge, he became the main man. An effective night with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals with a block.

The fourth-year man is the Spur’s best story of the year. After all these disappointments, Lyles here to save Spurs and give some hope. He’s becoming an intelligent guy who knows when he’s needed by the team. So it wise for the Spurs to guarantee his contract next season.

For the critics who think the Spurs can’t make right, the risk is always present. The Demarre Carroll experiment didn’t do well because he was outplayed right from the start of the season. A guy who is 24 years old, with a lot to improve on his skills which perfect for the modern NBA.

The Spurs can find any talent that can fit the team. Trey Lyles is a good project for Spurs long term, more than a role player.
