Former Spur that we love to see in Black and Silver once again

Some fans who support the San Antonio Spurs being attached to every player. It looks like they are part of the family. It’s an extension of how they do live. As some would say, Spurs is family. That was how San Antonio built-in, on how to take care of each other. Even Gregg Popovich wants every player to extend their efforts and time in their community. That’s why we have guys called fan favorites. Some of them are gone by retirement or others playing in different uniforms. Then we got to hope some of them to play in Black and Silver one more time. Even they couldn’t bring more but we love to cheer for them.

Here are some of the guys that hopefully will play to the Spurs before they hang-ups.

George Hill

The fan-favorite that the Spurs traded in 2011. Hill has been fantastic in the 2010 first-round matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. Having great moments against the late Kobe Bryant in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers when he never backs down to Kobe’s antics, he also got a moment when he stole the ball and scored. Gregg Popovich revealed that it’s a hard decision to trade Hill at that time. The San Antonio Spurs people love him and can’t believe he’s gone. George Hill had a chance to came back in free agency a couple of years ago, instead signed with the Sacramento Kings. The veteran guard continues to help people in San Antonio when he gives meals to the frontliners. His bonding with the Spurs legend together with Pop was special. To watch him in Black and Silver once again will give contentment to ourselves.

Danny Green

The victim of Kawhi Leonard saga. Green got no choice but to get out of San Antonio. A hard worker who finds success with the Spurs after Manu Ginobili had an injury in 2012. He’s been underrated defensively who takes care of Tony Parker deficiency on the defensive end. Green has been a recipient of Gregg Popovich’s verbal abuse. When Green became a free agent in 2015 he didn’t think twice when he offered a four-year extension. Even he’s underpaid, Green gladly accepted. The veteran guard also got home in San Antonio that he stays close to some Spurs fans.

Jonathan Simmons

The undrafted high flyer from Houston had a short stint in San Antonio. Even his career in Spurs uniform is a short one it’s been memorable. He could be a perfect Bruce Bowen with handles. Simmons defined the Spurs with his hard work.

The man with a nickname Juice, known for his chase-down blocks, highlights dunks, and defensive prowess. The energy he brings in the court coming off the bench loves by the fans. Jonathan Simmons outplayed James Harden in game six of the second round of 2017 playoffs. That was the last Spurs playoffs win. The contract dispute in the summer of 2017 made his way out of San Antonio. He signed with the Orlando Magic then played 1 and a half years before getting dealt with the Sixers and Wizard then cut. Recently he signed in NBA G League team Sta Cruz Warriors before the season suspended.

Boban Marjanovic

The big man from Serbia has been love all the time. Boban is an MVP off the bench, whenever the Spurs got a big lead they chant for “Boban’s” name. He’s a giant who got a touch that played behind Aldridge, Duncan, and David West. Boban got a giant hand who can cover your whole face. He had his moments with Jahlil Okafor and Jeremy Evans. Boban love to stay in Spurs uniform even for free but Popovich insisted that he needs to accept the Detroit Pistons offer sheet. But every time he went to play against the Spurs he loves by people in San Antonio.

Davis Bertans

The Spurs made the move to give way to sign Marcus Morris Sr after committed that he will sign with San Antonio. Bertans has been a sharpshooter for the Spurs with limited minutes. A young kid from Latvia been getting a career year in Washington Wizards. Likely to get paid after this season. The Spurs give up on him for nothing after Morris backs out and DeMarre Carroll bought out.
