In every NBA draft, the San Antonio Spurs becomes the biggest winners most of the time even they pick late. They made Dejounte Murray, Derrick White, Lonnie Walker IV and now Keldon Johnson becomes a good player with a lot of potentials.
This coming NBA draft, the Spurs likely to be in the lottery for the first time since 1997. One of the good prospects is Devin Vassell of Florida State University. He’s a good three-point shooter, 42% this year. Vassell is an excellent defender and can play guard and forward position. The sophomore is a good rebounder in his size.
Devin Vassell is only 19 years old that passing but it’s not a priority into his game. With Dejounte Murray within that role, Vassell is perfect for being 3 and D. Then DeMar DeRozan will slide back into his original two-guard position assuming we will play with the Spurs next season. Vassell will fill DeRozan’s weakness on the defensive end. It will save a lot of energy for Murray. He’s fit either on the bench or in the starting five.
The Spurs doesn’t have a regular small forward after the departure of Kawhi Leonard. Bryn Forbes who playing in the starting five giving up too many points. Devin Vassell only 19 years old is a good project for San Antonio that likely to be on the team’s reach according to move draft.
