Derrick White: Danny Green is cool to watch on blocking shots

Derrick White becomes an elite defender on his own since last season. He had a task to guard with opponents’ best wing player when Dejounte Murray comes on the bench. White has been phenomenal and outstanding playing honest defense. He never gets intimidated whoever on his front. The third-year guard out of Colorado thankful to Danny Green former Spurs guard.

In a conversation with reporters about his knack for blocking shots, Derrick White paid tribute to Danny Green: “Danny was really good at it, chase downs, threes, he kind of got blocks in a lot of different ways. It was definitely cool to see that up close and personal.” 

Danny Green just win one All defensive team in his career. But he’s underrated defensively a premier 3 and D for the Spurs since he makes his way to the rotation for San Antonio. Green cut twice by the Spurs before giving the best showing when Manu Ginobili gets injured. With him, they made the Spurs become elite defensively.

Derrick White is known for a shot-blocking guard. Last week he had back to back four blocks. Although in this department Derrick White number decreases this season. He still blocking shots anytime he gets his chances. White had a career-high of six blocks last season against the Atlanta Hawks.
