Demar DeRozan led Spurs to make 8 in a row against the Blazers


Seven Spurs players scored in double figures to beat the Portland Trail Blazers, led by Demar DeRozan with his 21 points and 8 rebounds and 3 assists. This make them 8 in a row and 1.5 games behind the fourth seed, which the Blazers also.

Spurs take a lead as much as 11 in second quarter, but the Blazers had a 20 to 5 run. The Spurs had a victim of two consecutive calls, when Damian Lillard slipped Derrick White called for a foul and another shooting foul which Lillard sink a three to convert a four point play, White seated on the bench rest of the quarter and the Blazers take a lead on halftime.

When the game was on the line Patty Mills led the Spurs, he made a three point shot and the next possession he made a great passed to Davis Bertans for a three.

After Bryn Forbes converted a three point play on a fast break and DeRozan find him in the corner for a three which give the Spurs enough separation, and White converted a long jumper.

Derrick White played great defense with Lillard when the Blazers looking for him to score, White didn’t give enough space the Blazers star to receive the ball.

The Spurs was outhussled by Jusuf Nurkic in fourth quarter where he made 4 offensive rebounds and dominated the paint (24 and 16, 7 off), which the Spurs bench the big man from Austria Jakob Poeltl.

Jakob Poeltl had 10 blocks on his last two games and altered every shot on the paint.

CJ McCollum left the game in third quarter with injury.

Spurs will face the defending champion on Monday night, they were trying to make it nine in a row and closer to home court advantage at first round.
