David Robinson shared how difficult his life being a Navy

The Spurs legend and humble man David Robinson who nicknamed the ” Admiral” that served his country before coming to the NBA. He drafted first pick overall in 1987 but need to finish his duty in the naval academy for 2 more years.

It was very difficult on a submarine base with no one over 6’5”.

Then he believed Tim Duncan was special since the first day they meet in the training camp for preparation of USA basketball to the 1992 Olympic team.

I knew right away that Timmy would be one of the best in the league. Played against him the summer before with @usabasketball and got a glimpse of his talent. I knew it would be transformational.

The two win a championship twice first in the lockout season of 1999 and the last one is in his last year 2003. David Robinson said it was one of the happiest moments of his life. Then 1995 as the worst when they lost against the Houston Rockets after a great regular season finish and MVP year. He added that Hakeem Olajowun is hard to guard and dominated him offensively. Robinson never thinks of leaving San Antonio as he played in all 14 seasons.

Staying with the @spurs was always my preference. I was a free agent once but San Antonio has always been my home.
