Bryn Forbes: Success of the SPURS this season

Spurs lost their point guard with an ACL injury in preseason games, and a week later after they announced his replacement has been injured and out for weeks. Bryn Forbes, undrafted free agent from Michigan State Spartans two season ago. He Auditioned with Spurs in training camp and got signed for a two year contract and second year is not guaranteed. That contract is still undetermined if he is a 15th man only or part of team who will compete all season long.

On his free agency last off season he is awarded on his hard work by a two year fully guaranteed contract worth 6 million dollars that was 600% increase than the first one.

With the injuries he started in all games by the Spurs and responded very well. He’s a two guard on a point guard body, a marksman on three and isn’t afraid for taking the ball in the lane and sacrifice his body.

Currently Spurs are back in .500 and Forbes is averaging 12 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assist in 27 minutes he played. He got confident on his shot and shooting 43% in three in 4 attempts per game.

He is not a long term solution as a point guard by the team, but he is a valuable one that they need a contribution aside from their own version of Big Three. He opened the lane for Demar Derozan who led the team in assist by simply making his three or waiting for LA Marcus Aldridge kick out.

These guy is another success by the Spurs who continuing finding a good player that can contribute on team success. Good players may be on the Top pick, but others are on later rounds or maybe out of Top 60. Just ask the PATFO, they know everything.
