Bleacher Report was right about the Spurs. They had the depth to compete with the firepower duo that others hyping. Offensively they had no shortage of a go-to guy. Their ball movement is second to none. Anybody can step up any given time. Bryn Forbes the most consistent contributor. Patty Mills, Marco Belinelli and Demarre Carroll was a steady veteran who provide leadership. They are the one who can give points and spacing.
Lonnie Walker IV is likely to show up his potential. It’s good for the Spurs he will put numbers every time he’s on the court. Trey Lyles wants to prove that he is a rotation guy who can contribute to team success.
Defensively the Spurs will improve. As it’s boost by Murray who won All-Defense before his injury. He is the one to defend the opponent’s point guards. Then the paint will be covered by Jakob Poeltl and Aldridge. This was the main problem by the Spurs last year. They don’t have a top-notch defense.
A good offensive team with great defense had a chance to compete. Even they don’t have that marquee name in the team outside of Popovich.
